Indoor Percussion
Welcome to Indoor Percussion

Indoor percussion is a competitive ensemble comprised of a drumline (also called battery) and a front ensemble (also called pit). The ensemble preforms a choreographed show on a gymnasium floor that combines elements of music, marching, and pageantry. The high energy activity pushes its members to achieve their highest possible performance level and instills them with a strong work ethic, a sense of community and belonging.
The Great Valley High School Indoor Percussion ensemble competes through MAPS – the Mid Atlantic Percussion Society, which holds competitions at local high schools February through March, ending with a championship competition in early April. Their mission is to foster ongoing education and enjoyment in the area of percussion performance.

Rehearsals generally begin in December and are held Monday and Thursday evenings, along with some Saturdays.
